Frequently asked questions
Everything about how Alerts on Chain works — the networks and channels we support, what wallet and contract rules can do today, pricing, and how we keep your funds safe.
Getting started
What Alerts on Chain is and how to send your first alert.
What is Alerts on Chain?
Alerts on Chain is a real-time blockchain notification service. You create rules for the on-chain activity you care about — a wallet's transfers, a contract's method calls or its specific events — and we send an instant Telegram message the moment a matching transaction is confirmed. No block explorers to refresh and no dashboards to keep open.
How do I set up my first alert?
Sign in, connect your Telegram so alerts have somewhere to land, then open the dashboard and pick a template (or start from scratch): paste a wallet address for a wallet rule, or a contract address and pick an event from the catalog (or paste a method or event signature). Save it and it starts watching immediately — the next matching transaction pings your Telegram within seconds.
Do I need to connect a wallet to use it?
You sign in by connecting a wallet and signing a message, which proves who you are without ever exposing private keys. But you can watch any public address — you don't need to own or connect it.
How fast are the alerts?
Alerts arrive within seconds of a transaction being confirmed on-chain. The system reacts to new Ethereum blocks as they're confirmed rather than polling on a slow schedule, so you find out as activity happens.
Is it free to try?
Yes. The free Beta plan watches 1 wallet and 1 contract with 100 events a month, no credit card. Upgrade later for more wallets, contracts and events.
Networks & delivery
Which chains we watch and where alerts are delivered.
Which blockchain networks are supported?
Ethereum mainnet is live today. More networks are coming with Premium; everything you set up now keeps working unchanged.
Which notification channels can I use?
Telegram is the delivery channel today. Discord, Slack, email and webhooks are coming with Premium. Each alert says what happened in plain words (one line per matched transfer, call or event), names the watched wallet or contract and the rule, and links to the transaction on Etherscan.
Can I send alerts to a group or team chat?
Yes. Because alerts are delivered over Telegram, you can point them at a personal chat or a shared group so a whole team sees treasury, governance or security activity as it happens.
Wallet rules
Watch any address and filter the transactions you hear about.
What is a wallet rule?
A wallet rule watches one public address and alerts you on its transfers — ETH (including internal transfers), ERC-20 tokens and NFTs, in or out — with the amount in the asset's own units and the counterparty. One message per transaction lists every leg, so a swap shows both sides. USD values are coming with Premium.
Can I watch a wallet that isn't mine?
Yes. Any public address can be watched — you don't need to own it or connect it. That's what makes wallet alerts useful for following whales, treasuries, deployers or wallets you're researching.
Can I filter by direction, amount, or token?
Yes. You can restrict a wallet rule to incoming, outgoing or both; to ETH, ERC-20 or NFTs; to one asset or a list (by symbol or token contract); to counterparties in or not in a list; and to a minimum and/or maximum amount in the asset's own units (which needs one asset, or ETH). Zero-value spam transfers are ignored by default.
How many wallets can I watch at once?
The free Beta covers 1 wallet; every paid tier covers up to 100. The cap counts your active rules, so pausing one frees its slot. Only the event allowance resets each billing period.
Can I watch NFT transfers for a wallet?
Yes — a wallet rule reports NFT transfers in and out of the address alongside token and ETH movements. Amount filters don't apply to NFT transfers, since they aren't fungible amounts.
Contract & event rules
Track the exact smart-contract events you care about.
What is a contract (event) rule?
A contract rule watches one smart contract and alerts you on the method calls or the specific events you pick — transfers, swaps, mints, sales, borrows, votes or an admin function being called. You pick events from the standard catalog (well-known contracts list the events they emit), or paste the method or event signature.
What can I watch without writing any Solidity?
Pick a template and paste a contract address: Token transfers, NFT mints, DeFi swaps, Ownership changes, NFT activity, NFT sales, Lending activity, Liquidations, My lending position, Whale deposits, Whale withdrawals, Large borrows, Whale transfers, Mints and burns, Stablecoin blacklist, Contract upgraded, New DEX pools, Large Lido stakes, ENS registrations, New proposals, Votes cast, Proposals and votes, Token approvals, Everything on a contract, Admin method called, Caller outside an allow-list. "Everything on a contract" is coming as a Premium add-on.
Can I get alerts on a custom event that isn't a preset?
Yes. Pick it from the standard catalog, or paste the signature with parameter names (e.g. Transfer(address indexed from, address indexed to, uint256 value)).
Can I filter events by their parameters?
Yes. Conditions reference arguments by name — indexed or not, signed amounts and array elements included — with operators that fit the type (equals, in a list, greater than and so on). All conditions of a rule must hold; several rules on one contract act as OR. You can also filter on the transaction sender.
Can I get alerts on specific function or method calls?
Yes. Paste the function's signature (or pick any method) and add conditions on its arguments by name, the caller, the ETH value and whether the call succeeded. Calls made directly to the contract are covered; calls routed through other contracts (Safes, routers, multicall) are coming with Premium.
Can I set a value threshold on contract events, like whale-sized swaps?
Yes, in the token's own units: type the amount (for example 1,000,000 USDC) and we apply the token's decimals when you save. USD thresholds are coming with Premium.
Pricing & limits
What's free, what paid plans add, and how limits work.
How much does Alerts on Chain cost?
The Beta plan is free with no credit card. Paid tiers run from Personal at $5/month (5,000 events) to Business at $349/month (2,000,000 events): Personal, Starter, Basic, Plus, Growth, Scale, Pro, Business. Annual billing gets 2 months free.
What's included in the free Beta plan?
1 wallet and 1 contract with real-time Telegram alerts on Ethereum and 100 events a month, at no cost and with no payment method required.
What do paid plans add?
Up to 100 wallets and 50 contracts, and a monthly event allowance from 5,000 (Personal) to 2,000,000 (Business). Every tier has the same features; only the allowance differs.
What counts as an event, and do limits reset?
An event is one transaction seen on one watched address. It counts once, whether it matches none, one or several of your rules and however many channels it fans out to. An alert is sent only when a rule matches. A transaction on a watched wallet uses 1 event and one on a watched contract uses 1. The allowance resets each billing period; you get a Telegram notice at 80% and 100%, and at 100% rules pause until the period renews or you upgrade.
Can I set up rules before paying?
Yes. You can configure rules as drafts and activate a plan when you're ready to turn them on, so you can lay everything out first and pay at the end.
Security & privacy
What we access, and why your funds are never at risk.
Do you store my wallet's private keys?
No. We never ask for or store private keys. We only need a public wallet address to watch its on-chain activity, so a rule can never move or touch your funds.
Can a rule move or spend my funds?
No. Watching is strictly read-only — we observe public on-chain activity and send you a message. There is no path by which a rule can transact on your behalf.
What data do you actually access?
The public wallet or contract address you ask us to watch and its on-chain activity, which is already public on the blockchain, plus your Telegram connection so we know where to deliver alerts.
How is sign-in secured?
You sign in by connecting a wallet and signing a message to prove ownership of the address. Signing a message never exposes your private key and never authorizes a transaction, so it's a safe way to authenticate.
Ready to set up your first alert?
